Delete Your Data

SimpleDot — Data Deletion
SimpleDot stores all your journal entries, photos, and settings locally on your device. There is no user account.
1. Delete Local Data
Via the App
Go to Settings > Data Management > Delete All Content to delete:
- All entries, photos, tags, and ratings
Your app settings (theme, font, notifications) will be kept.
By Uninstalling
Uninstalling the app removes all local data completely — including settings. Cloud data (Google Drive / iCloud) is not removed by uninstalling and must be deleted separately (see Section 2).
2. Delete Cloud Data
If you used the optional cloud sync feature, copies of your data are stored in your personal cloud storage (Google Drive or iCloud). You can delete this data at any time — regardless of whether sync is still active or whether you have a Dot+ subscription.
Via the App (recommended)
- Delete directly: Under Settings > Data Management > Delete Cloud Data you can remove your cloud data at any time — even if sync has already been disabled.
- When deleting all content: You will be asked whether to also delete your cloud data (backup & photos).
- When disabling Cloud Sync: Under Settings > Cloud Sync you can disable sync and remove your cloud data.
Manually: Google Drive (Android)
SimpleDot uses Google Drive's hidden app data folder, which is not visible at drive.google.com. To delete this data:
- On your device, open Settings > Google > Manage Account
- Navigate to Security > Third-party apps with account access
- Select SimpleDot and tap Remove access
This revokes access and Google will automatically clean up the app data in the hidden folder.
Manually: iCloud (iOS)
- Open Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage
- Select SimpleDot
- Tap Delete Data
3. Data with Third-Party Services

Both optional services (TelemetryDeck, Sentry) are only activated with your explicit consent.
4. Deletion Request via Email
If you need assistance deleting your data or wish to submit a formal deletion request under Article 17 GDPR:
We will respond within 30 days.
